The Saanich Peninsula Arts & Crafts Society established over 50 years
ago, is a non-profit organization which enjoys a first class reputation
for artists of all media and all levels of accomplishment.
As members we share ideas and facilities, sponsor classes and demonstrations,provide scholarships for local students and artists and support and encourage each other in our endeavours
.New members are always welcome.
SPAC will be holding its monthly meetings the first Monday of each month at the Mary Winspear Cultural Centre @ SANSCHA located on the corner of Beacon Avenue and Patricia Bay Highway in Sidney, BC. Meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in Activity Room 4. There are no general meetings in the months of January, May, July, August and September. The Annual General Meeting is held in October. Guest speakers and special events are planned.
Membership: If you know of anyone who would like to join SPAC this year, please email Joanne Hutniak - johut@shaw.ca, or they can call at 652-5765, and she will send a membership form.
ARTISANS at Mary Winspear is ongoing this summer and alot of our members have pieces at the show. This show is always so beautifully displayed. It is a great place to take your visitors!
Cindy Agan will be our next workshop leader from September 29th to October 2nd. There is still room in this workshop so contact Ruth Steinfatt if you would like to attend.
The beautiful new venue on Bevan Avenue in Sidney showcases a spac member each month. Be sure and drop in and bring your friends.
BLOGGING This site will talk about how to make a blog and what to put on it.
Blogging has become an online journal that alot of people are using to reach like minded people. Type Art Blogs in Google and I am sure you will find some wonderful sites to browse.

WORKSHOPS BY THE SEA
We are planning some wonderful workshops for our members and others who wish to further their artistic abilities. We will accept 50.00 down (non-refundable) on any workshop with the remaining amount due six weeks prior to the workshop. Cheques must be made out to SPAC and please put the name of the workshop on the front of your cheque. Credit cards will be accepted for SPAC members.
I am always on the search for a good artist that will fill the needs of our club. Please contact Ruth Steinfatt if you have a suggestion. The Committee makes the final decision but we do go through all of the teacher's criteria and see if they are what we are looking for. We only get the best instructors!
